Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips for coating
  • 28 whole caramels unwrapped, like Kraft brand
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 54 whole pecans
  • to taste Flaky sea salt

Equipment

  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramels and heavy whipping cream. Heat until smooth.
  3. If desired, toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Place 54 pecans on the lined baking sheet, grouping them in clusters of three.
  5. Spoon a generous amount of melted caramel over each pecan cluster.
  6. Melt the milk chocolate chips until smooth and drizzle over each caramel-covered pecan cluster.
  7. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over each Turtle while the chocolate is still warm.
  8. Allow the Turtles to cool until the chocolate hardens.
  9. Once set, enjoy your Turtles or store them in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Store Turtles in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
  • Refrigerate if in a warm climate to prevent melting.
  • For longer storage, freeze Turtles separated by parchment paper.
