Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 2 servings
Course: Breakfast, Snack
Cuisine: Healthy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or milk of choice
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt of choice
  • 3 tablespoons old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2-3 teaspoons honey or swap with agave or maple syrup for a vegan option

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Glass or mason jar

Method

  1. Gather all the ingredients listed above. Having everything ready will make the blending process smooth and quick.
  2. Add the unsweetened vanilla almond milk to your blender first. This helps create a liquid base for the other ingredients to blend smoothly.
  3. Next, add the baby spinach. The liquid will help the spinach blend down into a fine consistency without leaving any chunks.
  4. Spoon in the Greek yogurt and rolled oats. These ingredients will add creaminess and thickness to your smoothie.
  5. Add the frozen mixed berries to the blender. Using frozen berries not only chills your smoothie but also makes it creamier.
  6. Sprinkle in the ground turmeric and ground ginger. These spices are what give the smoothie its unique flavor profile and health benefits.
  7. Drizzle in 2 to 3 teaspoons of honey, agave, or maple syrup. Blend first and then taste, adding more sweetener if desired.
  8. Blend on high until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth. This usually takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on your blender.
  9. Pour the smoothie into a glass or mason jar. You can also top it with a few extra berries or a sprinkle of oats for added texture. Enjoy immediately for the best flavor and nutritional benefits!

Notes

  • Always blend greens first with the liquid for a smoother texture.
  • If you're not a fan of ginger's strong flavor, reduce the amount or omit it altogether.
  • Experiment with different fruit combinations based on what’s in season for the freshest taste.
