For the Lassi:
  • 1 cup plain kefir or plain yogurt
  • 1 frozen banana adds natural sweetness
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger grated
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons honey to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest (optional)

Instructions
  1. Start by collecting all the ingredients mentioned above. Make sure your banana is frozen to create that creamy texture.
  2. In your blender, combine the 1 cup of plain kefir or yogurt, 1 frozen banana, 2 teaspoons of grated fresh ginger, and 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice.
  3. Now, it’s time to add the 1/4 teaspoon of ground turmeric. If you opted for it, also include the 1/2 teaspoon of orange zest for a touch of citrus flavor.
  4. Add 2 teaspoons of honey to the blender. You can adjust the sweetness according to your taste preferences.
  5. Blend all the ingredients on high until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a splash of water or more kefir/yogurt to adjust the thickness.
  6. Give your Turmeric Lassi a taste. Add more honey if you prefer it sweeter or more lemon juice for extra tang.
  7. Pour the lassi into serving glasses, and if desired, garnish with a sprinkle of turmeric or a twist of lemon peel. Enjoy your refreshing drink immediately!

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
