Instructions:
- Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients. Start by measuring out all your ingredients. Ensure your dates are pitted and soft; soak them in warm water if dry.
- Step 2: Blend the Base. In your food processor, combine dates, walnuts, 6 tbsp of cacao/cocoa powder, 1.5 tsp of vanilla extract, water, and salt. Pulse until clumped together.
- Step 3: Add Sweetness and Fat. Add maple syrup (or honey/agave) and coconut oil to the food processor. Blend until smooth and sticky.
- Step 4: Taste and Adjust. Taste the mixture and add more cacao or salt as desired.
- Step 5: Spread into the Baking Dish. Line the baking dish with parchment paper and press the brownie mixture evenly into the dish.
- Step 6: Chill and Set. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Step 7: Cut and Serve. Remove from the dish and cut into squares. Dust with cocoa powder if desired.
