Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Marinade:
  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks (10 ounces each), or any cut
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Resealable plastic bag or shallow dish
  • Grill or skillet

Method

Stepwise Method:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the low-sodium soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Use a whisk or fork to mix everything together until well combined.
  2. Place the ribeye steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag (or cover the dish) and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but preferably 4 hours or overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. When you’re ready to cook, preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure it’s hot enough to achieve a beautiful sear on the steak.
  4. Remove the steaks from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Discard the marinade. Grill or pan-sear the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred level of doneness.
  5. Once cooked to your liking, let the steaks rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring each bite is juicy and flavorful. Slice, serve, and enjoy your perfectly marinated steak!

Notes

  • For a soy-free option, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
  • Marinate the steaks for at least 1 hour for the best flavor.
  • Feel free to adjust the marinade ingredients to suit your taste preferences.
