Servings: 6 servings
Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • Dash hot sauce or Sriracha sauce
  • 3 ounces cooked salmon

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fork or electric mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Serving dish

Method

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Chop the green onions, dice the celery, and mince the garlic to ensure they are ready to go.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise. Use a fork or an electric mixer to blend them together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the chopped green onions, diced celery, and minced garlic into the cream cheese mixture. This will add freshness and texture to your dip.
  4. Gently fold in the cooked salmon, ensuring you break it up into small pieces as you mix. This will distribute the salmon throughout the dip.
  5. Add the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, prepared horseradish, and a dash of hot sauce or Sriracha. Mix everything until well combined.
  6. Take a moment to taste your dip. If you feel it needs more seasoning, feel free to adjust with additional Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes. Chilling allows the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
  • Swap green onions for finely chopped shallots for a milder flavor.
  • Make it a day ahead for better flavor development; just keep it refrigerated.
