Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 slice whole grain bread, well toasted and processed into breadcrumbs
  • Salt, to taste

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Food processor
  • Skillet or grill
  • Spatula

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Start by toasting a slice of whole grain bread until golden brown. Once toasted, place it in a food processor and pulse until you have fine breadcrumbs. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, onion powder, dill, parsley, chives, egg whites, and prepared breadcrumbs. Season with salt to taste. Use your hands or a spoon to mix everything together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough sliders.
  3. With clean hands, form the turkey mixture into small patties, about 2 to 3 inches in diameter. Make sure they are uniform in size for even cooking.
  4. Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil. Once hot, place the turkey sliders on the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  5. Once cooked, remove the sliders from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve them on small buns or just as they are, with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, or a drizzle of ranch dressing for that extra kick.

Notes

  • These sliders are versatile; feel free to swap out herbs or add chopped vegetables.
  • For a low-carb option, use crushed pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
