Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter cut into cubes
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • Sea salt for sprinkling on biscuits (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add cold unsalted butter to the dry mixture and work it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the buttermilk and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in Nutella gently until swirls are visible.
  6. Drop generous amounts of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each biscuit.
  7. If desired, sprinkle sea salt on top of each biscuit before baking.
  8. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months; reheat in the oven.
  • Try adding chocolate chips or nuts for a fun twist!
