Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar lightly packed
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dark/semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Nutella melted

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • 9-inch pie dish
  • Spatula
  • Oven mitts

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your pie bakes evenly.
  2. Grease your 9-inch pie dish with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and smooth.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract and the egg until fully incorporated.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
  8. Pour the cookie batter into the prepared pie dish and spread it out evenly.
  9. Drizzle the melted Nutella over the top of the cookie batter. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to swirl it lightly, creating a marbled effect.
  10. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Allow the Nutella Cookie Pie to cool in the dish for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy every gooey bite!

Notes

  • Mix until just combined to avoid a tough crust.
  • Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing to prevent it from falling apart.
  • For a fun twist, add chopped nuts to the batter.
