  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Equipment

Method

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients - Start by measuring out all your ingredients. Having everything at hand makes the cooking process seamless.
  2. Step 2: Combine Ingredients in a Saucepan - In a small saucepan, combine the water, low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, Sriracha hot sauce, minced garlic, and ground ginger.
  3. Step 3: Heat and Whisk - Place the saucepan over medium heat. Whisk the mixture continuously until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce begins to simmer. This should take about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Thicken the Sauce (Optional) - If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can add a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water) to the simmering sauce and whisk until it reaches your desired consistency.
  5. Step 5: Cool and Store - Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool. Once cooled, transfer it to a storage container.

Notes

  • Store your sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
  • For longer storage, freeze in ice cube trays for easy use.
  • Adjust sweetness by using less sugar or a natural sweetener.
