Directions: Grilled Chocolate Cheddar
- In a mixing bowl, combine the pulverized milk chocolate with 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Spread the chocolate mixture generously on one side of two slices of brioche. On the other side of the same slices, layer the thick slices of cheddar cheese. Sprinkle the chopped milk chocolate over the cheese and then place the remaining slices of brioche on top, chocolate side down.
- Preheat your non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Once it’s hot, add the remaining stick of room temperature unsalted butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan.
- Place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden and crispy. Carefully flip the sandwiches using the spatula, and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
- After both sides are golden brown, and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Let them sit for a minute before slicing to allow the chocolate to set slightly.
- Cut the sandwiches in half and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Experiment with different types of bread like challah or sourdough.
- Try dark chocolate for a richer flavor or white chocolate for sweetness.
- Consider adding fruits like sliced strawberries or bananas for a fresh twist.
