Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 tablespoon white and black sesame seeds
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts skin on
  • 1 handful fresh coriander

Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Meat thermometer
  • Chopping board and knife

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat your skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, garnish with fresh coriander, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Don't skip marination; it boosts flavor.
  • Ensure your skillet is hot for crispy skin.
  • Keep an eye on cooking time to prevent drying out.
