Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef lean
  • 1 tablespoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 8 ounces Tomato sauce

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Can opener

Method

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the pound of ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  2. Once the beef is browned, sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well to ensure the meat is evenly coated with the spices.
  3. Pour in the 8 ounces of tomato sauce, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a spicier kick, add some cayenne pepper or hot sauce at this stage.
  5. Serve in taco shells, over rice, or as a filling for burritos. Top with your favorite garnishes like shredded cheese, lettuce, and salsa!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze the taco meat in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months.
  • To make it spicier, add chopped jalapeƱos or cayenne pepper while cooking.
