Chocolate Avocado Frosting

Ingredients
  

  • 2 whole Avocados ripe
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder high-quality
  • 6-8 tablespoons Pure maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 oz Chocolate chips optional

Equipment

  • Food processor or blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Storage Container

Method
 

  1. Start by cutting the avocados in half and removing the pit. Scoop the flesh into your food processor.
  2. Add the cocoa powder to the food processor.
  3. Pour in 6 to 8 tablespoons of pure maple syrup (or your preferred sweetener). Start with 6 tablespoons, and taste to see if you’d like it a bit sweeter.
  4. Add in the pure vanilla extract and salt.
  5. Put the lid on your food processor and blend everything together until smooth.
  6. If desired, melt the chocolate chips and add them to the mixture. Blend again until fully incorporated.
  7. Taste your frosting and adjust sweetness or cocoa powder as needed.
  8. Transfer the frosting to a storage container or directly onto your baked goods. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes before using.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months; thaw in the fridge overnight.
  • Try using leftovers as a dip for fruits or a spread on toast!
