Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup salted butter cold and cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or fork
  • Baking dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). A hot oven is essential for achieving that perfect rise and golden crust.
  2. Take your baking dish and pour in the melted butter, spreading it evenly to cover the bottom.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and kosher salt. Whisk them together until well combined.
  4. Pour the buttermilk into the dry mixture. Using a spatula, gently fold the ingredients together until just combined.
  5. Scoop the biscuit dough into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly over the melted butter.
  6. Place the baking dish in your preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are crispy.
  7. Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Enjoy them warm!
