Instructions:
- Start by laying out your slices of artisan sourdough bread. You’ll want to have 8 slices ready for assembly. Next, take your cheddar and provolone cheese slices and set them aside.
- Spread a generous layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will ensure a perfectly golden crust.
- On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer two slices of cheddar and two slices of provolone cheese. Sprinkle a pinch of garlic salt with parsley flakes on top of the cheese for added flavor. Top with the remaining four slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Place your non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Allow it to warm up for a couple of minutes before adding the sandwiches.
- Carefully place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet, buttered side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Using your spatula, gently flip the sandwiches to the other side. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted and gooey.
- Once cooked, remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute. Slice them in half diagonally and serve immediately for the best experience!
Notes
- Feel free to use different cheeses for a unique flavor.
- For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free bread.
