Ingredients

  • 2 fillets salmon (about 6 ounces each)
  • a pinch kosher salt
  • a pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • a pinch ground ginger (optional)

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Plate

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar or honey, Dijon mustard, extra virgin olive oil, low sodium soy sauce, garlic powder, and ground ginger (if using). Stir well until all ingredients are fully blended.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. This step is crucial for achieving that crispy texture. Season both sides of the fillets with kosher salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. Pour the marinade over the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated. Allow the fillets to marinate for at least 15 minutes. If you have time, marinating for 30 minutes will enhance the flavor even more!
  4. While the salmon is marinating, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Preheating ensures that the salmon cooks evenly and gets that delightful crispiness.
  5. Once preheated, place the marinated salmon fillets in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overcrowded, as this can affect cooking. Air fry the salmon for about 8-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. You’ll know it’s done when the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula. Serve it warm, garnished with fresh herbs or lemon wedges if desired. Enjoy your perfectly cooked Air Fryer Salmon with your favorite sides!

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, marinate the salmon for 30 minutes instead of 15.
  • Feel free to customize the glaze with your favorite sweeteners or mustards.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
