  • ¾ cup Char Siu Sauce

Method
 

  1. Begin by trimming any excess fat from the chicken thighs if desired. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure the Char Siu sauce adheres well.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken thighs and the Char Siu sauce. Make sure each piece is generously coated in the sauce. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes, or even better, overnight in the refrigerator to deepen the flavors.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C). This step is crucial for achieving a nice sear on your chicken.
  4. Once the air fryer is preheated, place the marinated chicken thighs in a single layer in the basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking.
  5. Cook the chicken for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before slicing. Serve it alongside steamed rice or in a lettuce wrap for a delightful meal.
