Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder for each cabbage steak piece
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons finely shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Brush or Spoon

Method

  1. Start by removing the outer leaves of the cabbage and then cut the cabbage head into thick slices, about 1-inch thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter or olive oil with the Old Bay seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and dried parsley. Stir until well blended.
  3. Using a brush or spoon, generously coat each cabbage steak with the seasoning mixture, ensuring that both sides are well covered. Sprinkle the finely shredded parmesan cheese on top of each steak.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the seasoned cabbage steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Once done, carefully remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a vegan option, replace the melted butter with olive oil and omit the parmesan cheese.
  • Add cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • Experiment with different herbs like thyme or rosemary.
